Jada Augustine

Jada Augustine is a Speech and Language Pathologist (CFY). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Long Beach, and her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Howard University in Washington DC. She started her career as a paraeducator in California; Jada worked for several school districts such as Compton and Long Beach Unified. While working as a paraeducator, Jada got her SLPA license while in her undergraduate program. She worked for a well-known private practice in Culver City, California.

Jada has worked with several syndromes and disorders. Her specialty is in the area of autism as she is a Certified Autism Specialist. Currently, Jada works with various backgrounds and students in the school and home health setting. She has the honor of being one of ASHA’s Minority Student Leaders in 2019; she was chosen to speak in front of the ASHA president and more. Jada has presented on the topic of autism at the National Black Speech and Language Hearing Association (NBASLH) and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

She was also featured on the news with two other colleagues in the Bahamas as she was one of the students selected to give speech therapy to children in the islands. Lastly, Jada is the CEO of a 501c3 nonprofit established in (2017); she provides students in Belize, Central America resources to thrive in and out of the classroom. As a young Belizean American, this effort correlates with her ultimate goal. Jada’s ultimate goal is to cultivate young minority patients and their families. Her goal is to give patients and families the confidence and the resources to flourish. Speech therapy hits home for her as many of her family members and friends have benefited from treatment. She believes young minority students should have someone to look up to! They need someone who understands them in all facets of their lives.
